Hey everyone, long time no post.
I’ve pushed out a beta version of tf2ls.com with new features that have been heavily requested recently. You will notice that it looks totally different from before. If you hate the new version, no sweat! You can access the old one at classic.tf2ls.com
That said, lets look at the main focus of the redesign. I wanted to give you all more fine grained control over which items you were searching for, and what types of those items you have. The sidebar now allows you to narrow down by class, item type, and quality (Normal, Vintage, Genuine, etc). Each item you have, will have a star for each version of that item you have (Blue for Vintage, Yellow for Unique, etc).
I hope to fill the sidebar with more features in the upcoming months (both ports of old features, like text output, as well as new ones).
As always, feedback is much appreciated. This is a big change for the site, so feel free to let me know your thoughts.
Cheers.
Hey everyone,
One small update to announce and a couple more larger ones upcoming.
First is the Halloween 2011 checklist. You can reach it by visiting your regular page and clicking ‘Halloween 2011’ or by visiting tf2ls.com/halloween/<yourid>. This page gives you a clean view of which Halloween 2011 presents you have found. For example: http://tf2ls.com/halloween/zkhr. It is live now!
Next is the stuff that I’m still working on. Several people have sent in requests asking whether or not items are strange or genuine or whatever. So I’ve been developing a new way of displaying your information that takes all that into account.
Finally, last but not least, is an admin interface. This will provide a way for users to update the site. This includes marking promo items, setting whether or not an item can be strange, and things of that sort. If you are interested in having access to this page, send me an e-mail at admin@tf2ls.com with a few words about why I should give you admin permissions.
Well, thanks for reading all that, and I hope to have these cool new features live soon.
Hey everyone,
One small change to report. I got an e-mail a few days ago requesting a new feature:
mate your website is great
one suggestion is to also include text output of extra weapons like you have for needed weapons
This new feature is live now in the Text Output tab and should hopefully make trading on random forums/posts a little easier.
Cheers.
Hey everyone, I got an e-mail earlier this week asking for a new feature to be added:
First off, thanks for making this site, it’s been really helpful in trying to track down what stuff I’m missing. I just have one feature suggestion: something similar to the “Show Items Owned” off toggle which also shows items which you have, but which could be in a better quality (i.e. the green X).
So, there is now a new option “Show Items Maxed Out” which you can now toggle off to hide items you have except for non-vintage ones when vintage versions of them exist out there.
As always, feel free to e-mail me at admin@tf2ls.com with any ideas or features you would like added to tf2ls.
Hey everyone. A couple additions to tf2ls.com to report as a follow up to the official Über Update. First is the addition of strange weapons to the growing list of types that a weapon can be (Vintage, Genuine, Unusual, etc.). In addition, since stock weapons can be strange, I’ve added them to the checklist. I’ve also added an option to toggle them on and off, for people that don’t want to see them.
A couple other minor changes. The total number of types of crates has been bumped up to 21, there are a few new paints added to the list, and many new weapons and hats across the different classes.
Last Tuesday, Valve updated some tf2 crafting recipes to be a wee bit cheaper than previously. Because of this, they provided some cool bonuses to the people that had already crafted them with the more expensive metal costs:
Items previously crafted using recipes that will be reduced in this update have been upgraded to Vintage quality.
So, tf2ls has been updated to show that the following items can now be vintage: Sun-on-a-Stick, Sharpened Volcano Fragment, Crusader’s Crossbow, Amputator, Warrior’s Spirt, Buffalo Steak Sandvich, Brass, Beast, Ullapool Caber, Loch-n-Load, Fan O’War, Concheror, Conniver’s Kunai, and Half-Zatoichi.
But wait, there’s more! Based on your feedback, tf2ls will now also display whether you have genuine or community items! I’ve also decided to change how the Bill’s Hat is displayed, based on your comments. This is a weird item, since it is technically possible to become vintage, but only out of abusing the item restoration system. Because of this it will now display as not being able to be vintage.
So thanks again to everyone that has sent me ideas, comments and fixes. If you ever want to e-mail me directly, feel free to use admin@tf2ls.com for all your messaging needs.
Welcome to the new tf2ls blog. I hope to use this area to keep you all updated on new features, upcoming changes, and other ideas. It also provides a platform for providing feedback and thoughts on any changes made or that you’d like to see.
Because of the amazing response I received after my post on reddit, I want to give special thanks to everyone in /r/tf2/ who provided me fixes, cool ideas, and other posts of encouragement. Here are just a few of the most recent changes implemented, based on your feedback:
So thanks for reading and be on the lookout out for more new features I’ll be adding in the next few weeks (in real-time. not valve-time).
